Driving Range Rules
The enjoyment and of course, safety of all guests and staff is a priority for Orlando Country.
To achieve this, we do have set rules that apply to all guests while present or wishing to attend The Orlando Country Club.
Some of the following you will find are common sense and others need to be highlighted to ensure all guests are aware.
Please see the following:
All players must always hit from the green mats – do not hit off the grass.
Two feet must always be on the mat.
Only one player to be hitting off the mat at any one time.
No person is to go on the grass. If you have run out of balls, please ask staff for more balls.
If golfers can be seen to the left or right on the golf course, please drop down to a yellow marked club or if using your own, an iron. Staff will be monitoring any stray shots and if your group is unable to keep your shots inside the marked driving range area you will be asked to wait until the golfers are through their hole until you can hit again.
No Happy Gilmore hits. It was a great movie, but our experience tells us that it is not so safe for those in other bays next to you – especially children.
Only the person hitting a ball should stand near the mat with others well back at all times.
Always obey our verbal or posted rules and instructions. Use common sense to protect yourself and others (please don’t ruin another group’s day out!)
If you have a request to staff that is unable to be granted for whatever reason, then please either accept this or wait aside and staff will get back to you when they get a chance - please note that for their safety and wellbeing, our staff are not to engage beyond any simple requests, and you will need to formally contact management to discuss any further issues.
You are responsible for the safety of others around you so always be on the lookout before taking a shot and be aware of your surroundings.
Always aim for the range targets or the centre of the range.
Golfers on the course always have the right of way, so take a break if you think you might have stray shots as they head out to play – remember you are legally responsible for damages or injuries caused by any balls that hit another person, so hit within your limits. Staff have very little input into the creation of our rules, but they are required to ensure they are followed, so please work with them.
No Stag or Hens do are allowed at Orlando Country as we are strictly a family, events, and wedding venue.
Thank you for adhering to the rules and always remember the following: It’s nice to be important… but more important to be nice.

Driving Range FAQ’s.
How much does it cost?
Our website has pricing listed with each option and is on a per-bay basis with maximum legal numbers. So simply choose the one that best suits your group size and requirements. i.e max 10 single bay for up to 10 people attending, max 15 single bay for up to 15 people attending etc.
How is the VIP Hosting session different from the other options?
The VIP Hosting Session is an upgraded bay area suitable for hosting from 40 guests and is designed especially for celebrations, work do’s, client hosting etc. The bay has plenty of room for everyone to mingle as well as an area indoors especially for you. You will have the option to preorder any platters allowing you to arrive and begin hosting your guests with everything already organised. Other extras you can add include a fully hosted driving range competition @ +$5pp.
How many people can fit in a bay?
Our maximum legal numbers are listed on each option. These limits are strictly enforced and are for both customer and staff health and safety. We have options for a range of different guest numbers so please ensure you have selected the correct option. i.e. if you have 11 people, please select the Max 15 Single Bay or Twin Single option as you will not all fit in the Max 10 Single Bay.
How many people does a platter serve?
If placed in the centre of the table to share with everyone for lunch they are designed on average for ‘one platter per person.’ If the platters are an in-between, i.e. not a full meal, we would usually work on approx. one platter per three people.
If we have fewer people turn up for our booking, can we reduce the number of bays we have booked?
Yes after the first hour we can reduce your bay number, but not before this.
If we have more people turn up for our booking, can we add an extra bay to accommodate them?
Yes, no problem but only if a bay is available.
What if a few more people than I booked turn up
That’s fine if you do not exceed the set legal limit on your reserved bay. It pays to look online before arrival and see if there are any spare bays available to accommodate you all and alter your booking accordingly.
Can extras just sit outside the bay next to us?
No sorry all guests attending must be accounted for in your range booking even if they are not hitting balls excluding children under 2 years.
The only access for non-range users is via the inside café seating that runs through top 2:30pm each day.
What if we haven't finished our drinks and food when our time is up.
You can finish any food and drinks in our reserved common area behind the bays if it is not after closing time and there is a table available
Can I pre-order platters?
Yes, although do note that platter orders cannot be changed, although more can be added on the day if need be. Follow the link to prebook platters https://www.orlandocountry.co/vip-range-platters
What if we arrive late?
If you are running late a quick email to let us know goes a long way. If there is no booking directly following your reserved time we will try and start your time from arrival. However, please note we cannot always accomplish this and on busy weekends we are often booked solidly so you will only be able to use the bay for the remainder of your booked time. You will be charged the full booking time so please be mindful when creating the booking you can all make it on time.
If we arrive late, do we get a discount for reduced time?
No sorry, but sometimes we can give a few minutes extra at the other end if the bay is not reserved.
What if we arrive early?
Depends on the booking before you, sometimes we can slip you in early and sometimes you end up waiting in the casual area.
What if we cancel?
You can cancel up to 24 hours prior without any fee or within 24 hours you need to pay for the first full hour of your booking.
Can we change our booking to another time / day etc?
Yes if an alternative is available and with more than 24 hours’ notice.
Can we bring a cake?
Orlando Country does not allow any form of food including cakes to be brought onto the property. We do have options available to purchase a cake for your celebration, which will be made onsite especially for you by our chefs. You may select this option on your booking, and we will send you a link to our cake page.
We haven't hit all our golf balls can we stay until we are finished?
No sorry, your stay is based on time, not the number of balls we give you to hit. You can extend your booking if the bay is available following your booking.
I will decide on the day how long I want is that OK?
For extensions yes, provided your bay is not booked out by someone else and we have availability for you.
Can we have our lunch and order drinks in the bay?
Yes, all bays are suitable for dining.
Can we bring along our kids and can they hit balls?
Yes, no problem you just need to keep all children at arm’s length and ensure they do not go beyond the veranda edge or annoy other guests next to you.
Can we smoke in the bays?
Yes providing you don’t have smoke drifting into other groups bays, just ask staff for an ashtray.
Do you host stag or hen events?
No, not at all as we are strictly a family, events, and wedding venue.
Are the bays heated?
We have a few small heaters only, so do wear a coat or ask staff for a rug if you are cold.
Can we have our own music playing?
No, we have a great range of music playing from our Orlando playlist.
Can we have speeches in our bay area?
No one minds a few celebratory speeches for a special occasion but keep them reasonable and do note others will be able to hear them. Please also note we cannot turn down the music as it plays throughout the whole building.
Can I just squash in 1 extra person, and they won't hit balls?
No not at all– this is not only unsafe, but also exceeds the legal limit allowed – on occasion and where deemed suitable by management, extras may be allowed into the reserved veranda area for a set fee of $10.00 per person, but only on the condition they do not enter your bay area unless someone from within swaps out with them first as all bays have legal limits that must be adhered to.
Not everyone will be hitting golf balls, so they are not counted right?
We count the number of people attending, not those hitting balls as you are hiring the bay area.
Will my time start to the minute of my booking?
We try our very best! Please ensure that you are here a few minutes earlier than your start time to organise your group and payment to ensure you start on time. Remember there could be a queue so arrive with enough time to allow for this. Your booking time includes allocated time for the re-set of the bay, so there will be a couple of minutes of deviation throughout the day depending on bookings. We appreciate your cooperation with our staff in these cases.
